The Houses October Built

When you’re a kid and you go to a bunch of haunted houses, did you ever grow up and think to yourself, “I really wanna get scared and I want to be so scared that I defecate in my pants!”, well the lead in this movie def did. The movie, The House That October Built , is centered around a guy who wants to go back to the days of being scared; he wants to find the scariest haunted house in the USA; He wants to find the scariest haunt there is. I mean yes, this seems like an amazing trip. So what does he do? He gets a group of his friends together and tells them they are all going on a trip. They then find out his mission, some think it’s stupid, and some think it’s a cool idea. Hell, I would def be one of the friends that is down to experience this first hand. With the help of his friends, they all document every single action they take. Some of the creepiest scenes , in my opinion, happen within this movie. One in particular haunt suddenly blurs the lines of reality and gives you the heebie geebies while watching.
FFW: This movie is found footage due to the fact that the whole trip is being documented. Now here is the funny thing, in every article I write, there’s usually never a reason for this to be “found footage”, well for this one, it makes sense. Ina ll actuality, this movie could be a promo for a new haunt in Louisiana. So the footage could have ended up in the promoter’s hands and they may have thought that it was instant gold. It makes a lot of sense from a marketing standpoint.
FT: In the very beginning of me hearing about this movie, I wasn’t sold on the title. I mean, why did I want to watch a movie about a house that somebody named October built? Yes, I actually thought that for a split second…..then the trailer played and I was hooked instantly. The movie dives into the unknown feeling of asking yourself, “Do I really want to experience what I know to scare the living shat out of me? Do I want to be so scared that I am willing to sacrifice my friends lives for my entertainment?”. That is exactly how you will feel after watching this movie. You are going to be asking yourself a lot of questions that quite frankly won’t be answered; I believe that is what the director and writer were going for. I give this movie a hell of a rating, I give it a 4.9/5 Stars! Go see this movie; Go rent this movie; Go buy this movie! Brilliant filmmaking !
